I just inherited money, where should I invest it?

Posted by Eric LeRiche | March 24, 2010 .

I am relatively young and just inherited 50k. What would you do with it considering I have no experience what so ever investing money… I already am getting calls twice a day from people asking me to let them handle my money but I don;t know what to do…

Thank you for your objective response.

Dave

Wow, that’s an important decision and I really want to help you here.

Considering you are young and have no experience I assume you don’t have a house yet but even if you do the following advice is still relevant:

The long term opportunity in real estate right now is staggering.

With borrowing costs so low, real estate so beaten up, and a plethora of renters now re-unleashed back onto the market, I don’t know that there has been a better time to start laying the groundwork for building a fortune in real estate.

I know this sounds weird coming from me who’s all about learning about stocks and investing in the stock market but if you were my son, that’s what I would tell you.

    Good luck
